By nature, CrossFit workouts are constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements.
The constant variance of our workouts eliminates boredom and stagnation, and allows the body to adapt to many broad challenges and demands. The high intensity of our workouts is used to elicit a strong endocrine response, resulting in greater muscle gain, drastic reduction in body fat, and improvement in cardiovascular conditioning.
Functional movements are natural, effective, safe and essential movements that we use in our day-to-day activities. Squatting, picking up an object from ground to overhead, lifting, pushing, and pulling are all examples of functional movements. By using functional exercises to strengthen your body, you recruit more muscles in your training and greatly reduce the possibility of injuries and muscular imbalances.
At CrossFit Ile Bizard we offer two daily WODs; the Warrior WOD for general fitness and the Beast WOD for serious competitors. New CrossFitters are required to first start with our CrossFit Passport and complete the required Olympic lifting introductory classes before registering for one of our memberships.
CrossFit Ile Bizard is lead by a team of CrossFit Level 1 athletic therapists and exercise scientists, and is the only CrossFit gym in the West Island that offers “Mom” classes and CrossFit-specific Yoga to its members.
